YOGA CLASSES DESIGNED FOR BEGINNERS
Instructor: Melanie McRae
This Chair Yoga class is for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of yoga while having a chair for sitting or for support. In this class we begin with 5 minutes of centering meditation followed by about 35 minutes of gentle movement and stretching, then we close with 5 minutes of seated savasana.
We do about half of the poses from our chairs and then include some standing poses with your chair always available for modifications or support in the pose. If you are able and want to use the floor for poses, you're welcome to do so, but this is not expected or required for this class. Modifications to individual needs are always welcomed here! The primary focus in this class is to help you feel better in your body and to feel good about what you can do, even from a chair.

Intro to Svaroopa® Yoga
Learn how to release long-held muscle tension in your body. This class uses blankets and props to support your body allowing for a gentle release of spinal muscle tension. Poses are done lying down, sitting on blankets and/or sitting on chairs. People who have never done yoga before are encouraged to attend. If you are inflexible or are experiencing aches and pains in your body, this class is for you. For other Svaroopa® Classes click here

Yoga for BEGINNERS to ADVANCED PRACTITIONERS
Afternoon Yoga Break
This yoga class is fun and mindful. We use our muscles in ways that release tension: both through stretches and poses that build strength. We take each person's physical challenges into consideration and modify poses when necessary.
Each person has his or her unique strengths and weaknesses. We are all strong in some areas, weak in others; flexible in certain joints and stiff in others. We tend to judge ourselves by our weaknesses but yoga gives us an opportunity to celebrate our strength and flexibility. It also provides us with a chance to gently and lovingly strengthen our bodies (minds and spirits) where they are weak, and encourage them to flexibility where they are tight.
The last few minutes are devoted to meditation so our bodies can fully integrate the benefits of the class just past. We look forward to meeting you.

Gentle Hatha Yoga
Increase focus, flexibility, balance and strength. Learn to maintain sthira (steadiness) and sukha (ease) in each pose using proper alignment. Experience a combination of active poses, restorative poses, meditation and breathwork. Increase your energy, strengthen your body and improve your health. Suitable for both beginners and experienced yogis of all body types.

Hatha yoga Flow incorporates the basics of Hatha (traditional yoga postures) with particular focus on alignment and endurance in each posture. In addition, much focus is placed on the ability to transition (flow) comfortably and gracefully between poses. Each class has a physical and traditional theme intended to promote growth and progress in one's practice, as well as contentment and gratitude in one's life.
Pranayama (breath practice), meditation, and guided relaxation are woven through the classes to provide a well-rounded class that will leave you feeling both calm and energized. This is an all levels class as modifications are always offered.

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient yogic system kept a secret tradition of Raj Yoga in India until its code of secrecy was broken in the late 1960’s when Yogi Bhajan started teaching it publically in the West.
Kundalini Yoga is a remarkable system for keeping the entire body strong and balanced, particularly the nervous system and endocrine system, which become overtaxed in our constantly “tapped-in” society.
Its unique combination of physical asana, pranayam (breathing exercises), mantra and meditation are designed to work on specific body systems to help remove toxins, increase energy and vitality, relieve stress, anger, tension, emotional pain and support all aspects of the mind-body-spirit connection. Kundalini yoga also promotes a deep sense of inner-awareness and connection to help uncover the jewel that lies deep within each one of us.

Svaroopa® Yoga Continuing Classes (You can

Don't feel flexible? Practicing Svaroopa® yoga will help to restore your body's suppleness and flexibility. Through the use of propping and alignment, your muscles are encouraged to release all of the built-up tension that accumulates over the years.
In these classes, you will be doing poses in a series, working your body from the tailbone to the upper spine. Svaroopa® style yoga is not a vigorous, exercise style of yoga, but rather a deep healing yoga style that will open up your spine thereby relieving muscle pain and tension, as well as deeper levels of consciousness as you continue with the practice. This is a style of yoga that virtually every Body can do.
Svaroopa® Yoga is great for everyone and benefits those with arthritis, back pain, repetitive stress syndrome, the aches and pains of aging or anxiety and stress.
Class meets with Solveig on Sundays at 4:30pm, Mondays at 5:30pm, on Wednesdays at 9:30am and on Fridays with Tasha at 6pm. ( All Svaroopa® Yoga classes are one and one-half hours long.) Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga
Instructor: Elizabeth (Sunday)
This mixed-level Vinyasa Yoga class will combine alignment focused static postures with the dynamic movements of a vinyasa flow. This practice is designed to cultivate students’ balance, strength, and flexibility, and encourage them to explore mindfulness. Modifications are offered throughout each class so that those new to yoga and people of all body types have a happy and healthy yoga experience. Everyone is welcome and encouraged.

Vinyasa Yoga (Open Level - Tuesday and Wednesday class)
Each open level, Vinyasa (flow) class combines a theme, a fun soundtrack, humor, alignment emphasis, and Pranayama (breath control} with a dynamic series of asanas (postures) designed to systematically open the body for a joyful experience.
Class meets on Tuesdays 12:00-1:00pm, Tuesdays 7:15pm-8:30pm and on Wednesdays 4:30pm-5:30pm. $15 drop-in, $75/6 classes, $120/12 classes-------------------
An easy-paced practice of breath, poses and transitions, and rest to foster increased strength and flexibility, balance and sense of well-being. Attention will be paid to alignment, recognition of body position and self-awareness. Beginners and experienced practitioners welcome.

Yoga for Seniors
Yoga for ages 60 and up is designed for the Ageless Yogi who wants to look and feel great, and have fun!
Yoga postures help to increase muscle tone, balance and strength and improve mood. We will work through a series of poses while connecting with the breath to increase circulation and energy. All levels are welcome and individual needs will be addressed.
This class meets on Mondays from 9am-10am. $13 drop-in, $68/6 classes.

PRENATAL YOGA AND YOGA BONDING

There are so many benefits the expectant mother gains from the practice of yoga! Yoga offers the opportunity to maintain strength, lengthen the spine, build musculature endurance & move vital energy. The pregnant mother will practice important breathing exercises that will help reduce stress & anxiety and inspire mental clarity. The postures and breathing are excellent for mom’s wellbeing in a changing body, along with preparing the body for the experience of childbirth. Each prenatal “yogi” will be welcomed into an appropriate practice designed to inspire, invigorate and nurture her! A typical prenatal class consists of traditional postures with modifications offered for all stages of pregnancy. Experienced or new to yoga~ all are welcome!

Yoga Bonding with Baby
This special class is a baby integrated postnatal yoga practice designed for babies and caregivers from 6 weeks to crawling. This sequenced program is designed to meet the developmental needs of babies nurturing and fostering rhythms for sleep, digestion and more.
Although Yoga Bonding© is perfect for dads and caregivers, there is special attention placed on the needs of moms in the postnatal period. Come, enjoy an hour with your baby. Learn new ways to bond, enhance your connection, and find community.

MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
Mixed Martial Arts
Instructor: Willie Sims
A beginner-friendly, fun workout, with a deeper dive into mixed martial arts driven by Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do training concepts. Along with fundamental kickboxing, you'll explore topics like trapping, sensitivity, sweeps, leverage principles, gentle takedowns and more. No experience necessaray. Non-aggressive atmosphere. Come alone or bring a friend.
Class meets every Saturday from 5pm-6:30pm. $10 drop-in
Instructor: Willie Sims
Rise, shine, and sweat with a fun, to the point, martial art based cardio workout that will definitely get you up and moving. You will move quickly through 4-5 stations to work different muscle groups and body movements. Each station has a practical application so students build a skill set while getting a great workout. With a focus on essential martial art attributes (stamina, mobility, awareness, technique) and calisthenics training this class is great for beginners as well as seasoned athletes.
