Pawanmuktasana Joint Opening
Workshop with Solveig Corbin, CSYT: Saturday, May 18th from 2:30p-4:30p

Move all of your joints in your body in every direction. In this workshop, you will learn a sequence of poses for the joints, including your ankle joints, knee joints, hip joints, shoulder joints and neck. The movements will be slow and at the fullest range of motion for each joint and will release trapped air in the joints.

This can be very relaxing or very invigorating or both at the same time. Come and experience the opening of all of your joints, the movement of all of your bones and muscles, increased circulation throughout your body, the clearing out of toxins from your tissues and a feeling of vitality, wholeness and wellbeing.

This workshop is in-person only.

Chant with Kirtan Path

Sanskrit Mantras are woven into melodies - the drone of the harmonium is combined with stirring vocals and the heart beat of the drum.

Experience the energy and vibrations of communal singing, connecting to the Divine and eachother in this meditative, peaceful, uplifting practice of Bhakti Yoga.

No previous experience is required. Chant sheets will be available.

This is a free event in the spirit of dana (generosity/giving freely). Donations joyfully accepted (cash or Venmo).

About the Event

Kirtan is the sacred tradition of call-and-response chanting, brought to us from India. Kirtan is one of the principal activities of Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion). The chants come from the Hindu tradition, but people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds participate in kirtan - it is in essnce a meditation, repeating the names of God, turning inward towards ourselves.

We experience the energy and vibrations of communal singing, connecting to the Divine and each other, opening our hearts and quieting our minds. Everyone participating contributes to the experience, emenating loving energy to the universe.

About the Artist

Kirtan Path has been singing with the greater Twin Cities kirtan community since 2009. They also participated in many Midwestern chant events over the years, such as the Twin Cities Kirtan Festival, the Twin Cities Yoga Festival, India in Iowa, the Inner Peace Festival, Bhakti Fest Midwest, Midwest Yoga and Kirtan Fest, Great Mother Chant, Kirtan Fest Miluaukee, Circle of Celebration and Soul Family ReUnion.

In that tradition, join musician and Zen priest Marc Anderson as he artfully shapes the tones and timbres of gongs, singing bowls, ancient drums, and spoken poetic images into a meditative soundscape. Come and experience for yourself an effortless journey into blissful relaxation.

Marc Anderson

Marc Anderson is a Twin Cities based musician, composer, Zen priest and poet. He has studied, performed and recorded music all over the world with hundreds of great artists including: Angelique Kidjo, Robert Fripp, Steve Tibbetts, Don Cherry, Max Roach and Taj Mahal. He founded and directs the M2 Foundation which advocatesfor a more mindful and compassionate world. And he is on staff in the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life at Macalester College.
