At Nokomis Yoga in South Minneapolis, we offer yoga classes for every body

Whether you are looking for a beginning yoga class, looking for a meditative style of yoga, or wanting a more movement oriented class, we have a class for you. We are beginner-friendly and offer many great classes for beginners as well as for seasoned practictioners.

Check out our yoga classes page to learn more about what we offer. If you are looking for the ideal (not crowded or spandexy) yoga class, you will find it here. Our classes are small, so that our instructors can make sure that you as a student are supported and well taken care of.

We are located in South Minneapolis on the eastern shore of Lake Nokomis in the Shops at Nokomis Beach.

Class Payment

Please pay your instructor at the time of your class. For pricing information, go to the Classes page or the Instructor page as each Instructor charges different pricing. No payments are taken online. Cash, check or credit card- if your instructor accepts credit- you can check the instructor page for that information.

No classes on Thursay, July 4th- we are closed. Enjoy the holiday! No Svaroopa Yoga on Wed. July 3rd, Saturday, July 6th or Sunday, July 7th. Yoga Basics with Mike is cancelled on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Svaroopa Yoga 5:45pm Monday class is moving to 5:30pm beginning Monday, May 13th.


NEW- Kundalini Yoga class on Monday nights with Dorothy Jordan
from 7:30pm-8:45pm.

Come and check out our newest class- Kundalini Yoga with Dorothy Jordan. No need to sign up, you can just come. Dorothy will be leading you through warm-ups, Kriyas (a set of postures intended to have a specific affect), relaxation and meditation. All beginners are welcome.

NEW~ Chair Yoga with Melanie McRae

This Chair Yoga class On Mondays from 4pm-5pm is for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of yoga while having a chair for sitting or for support. In this class we begin with 5 minutes of centering meditation followed by about 35 minutes of gentle movement and stretching, then we close with 5 minutes of seated savasana. Feel free to drop in. $20 drop-in or $75/6 classes.

Martial Arts with Willie Sims

Saturday Martial Arts meets from 5pm-6:30pm. This class is a beginner-friendly, fun workout, with a deeper dive into mixed martial arts driven by Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do training concepts. All are welcome! $10 drop-in rate.

Kickboxing with Willie meets on Sunday mornings from 9am-10am. Rise, shine and sweat with a fun, to the point, martial art based cardio workout. All are welcome! $10 drop-in rate.
