Do Yoga Like a Retiree

Yoga Like a Retiree Class

Do yoga like a retiree, whether you are retired or not; maybe mid-afternoon on Thursdays just works better for you. This class is fun as well as mindful and beneficial.

Wear clothes that are easy to move in and if you have a mat, please bring it. We use our muscles in ways that release tension: both through stretches and in poses that build strength.

Each person’s physical challenges are taken into consideration and we modify poses when necessary. A person can be strong in some areas and weak in others; flexible in certain joints and stiff in others. People tend to judge themselves by their weaknesses but yoga offers an opportunity to celebrate their strength and flexibility. It also provides a chance to gently and lovingly strengthen bodies, minds and spirits where they are weak and encourage them to flexibility where they are tight.

The last few minutes of class are devoted to meditation, so bodies can fully integrate the benefits of the class just past.
